My Uncle Owen passed away from Alzheimer's several years ago after a long battle with the disease. My Aunt Louise gave up everything to take care of him. She was an early-rising deal hunter who loved to get up and get to Target immediately when the doors opened on Sunday to check out the new deals. She always went shopping the day after Thanksgiving too to get the best deals possible. She also loved to take long walks in the neighborhood. But when her husband got sick, she had to give up all of that to stay home and take care of him. She also had to think about things like putting alarms on the doors so he wouldn't wander outside in the middle of the nights. With today being World Alzheimer's Day, I want to send her a card to let her know I'm thinking of her. She loves my cards and I try to send her packets of ones I've made so she can share them with friends. I'll try to gather some other cards to send her as well.
In honor of this day, Carolyn King http://myblogbycammie.blogspot.com/2008/09/heart-to-heart-blog-candy.html is giving away a lot of stamping goodies donated by many generous and wonderful stampers. Please check out her website and visit some of the companies websites as well who have generously given of themselves to support this worthy cause.
Thanks, Carolyn, for making a difference!
